Arminia Bielefeld defeats Holstein Kiel – victory for Darmstadt and Rostock
Second success for Arminia
After a lightning goal and a 3-0 lead, Arminia Bielefeld trembled for their second victory of the season in the 2nd Bundesliga. On Matchday 9, DSC happily beat Holstein Kiel 4:2 (2:0) and tied the midfield. Kiel, who, after catching up too late in the last game against HSV, were preparing to equalize the high deficit again, lost the connection at the top and were also without a win in their seventh competitive game in East Westphalia. On the other hand, Hansa Rostock and Darmstadt 98 scored three points.
Home wins for Bielefeld, Darmstadt and Rostock: all results in the 2nd Bundesliga
Robin Hack (pictured) put the Bielefeld team ahead after 18 seconds and gave them a perfect start. Former Kieler Janni Serra (36th) and Masaya Okugawa (48th) extended the lead to 3-0. Which was flattering, though, because Kiel was at least even. After the goals from Alexander Mühling (59th) and Fin Bartels (68th), the game was open again.
The guests pushed for the deserved equaliser. Bielefeld only focused on getting the result, but Bryan Lasme replied decisively (85th) after a controversial scene on the other side. KSV demanded a penalty after an alleged foul on Bartels. Referee Arne Aarnink no longer looked at the situation and gave Arminen the counterattack.
Rostock ends losing streak – by throwing a cup when the club goes bankrupt in Darmstadt
Hansa Rostock has ended its series of bankruptcies in the 2nd Bundesliga. After three previous defeats, the Mecklenburg side celebrated their third home win on Saturday with a 3-1 (2-0) win over 1. FC Magdeburg and cemented their mid-table position. Kai Pröger (30th/41st) and Lukas Fröde (64th) scored the goals for coach Jens Härtel’s team in front of 26,500 spectators in the Ostseestadion. Baris Atik (90+4) scored for the guests.
After the last three draws in a row, SV Darmstadt 98 once again celebrated a victory in the 2nd Bundesliga – but the game against 1. FC Nürnberg is likely to have consequences. In the sovereign 2:0 (2:0) of the « Lilien » on Saturday, veteran Tobias Kempe was hit in the head by a cut from the Nurnberg supporters block during a corner kick in the 65th minute. After a short break, play resumed. Striker Kempe barely noticed the kicked header and remained largely unmoved.
For the team coached by Torsten Lieberknecht, Kempe (8′) scored with a well-placed shot from seven yards and Phillip Tietz with a header (27′). Darmstadt are now unbeaten in eight league games and are still in the top group. In front of 14,500 spectators in the sold-out Böllenfalltor stadium, Nuremberg acted largely harmless in attack.
