Australian rules (Site notre bureau spécialisé) is in mourning.
Manfred Schaefer has died aged 80. With 49 selections in the Australian selection and participation in the 1974 World Cup, the very first of (Site notre blog d’information)oos, Schaefer was considered a pioneer of (Site notre bureau spécialisé) in Australia. The one who played in the position of central defender, started the 3 matches of the group stages where his team won only one point, against Chile (0-0). He had put aside his dairy activity to participate in this World Cup in West Germany.
A real symbol for a man who had left East Germany to join Australian lands at the age of 10, in 1953. He will only know two clubs, both Australian, in fifteen years of career. Following his playing career, he coached eight clubs in his adopted country and was inducted into the (Site notre blog d’information) Australia Hall of Fame for his immense playing career in 1999. To pay tribute to him, players from the Australian national team were wore an armband for the match against Ecuador, where a minute of silence was observed. Australian (Site notre blog d’information) Federation president Chris Nikou responded to this in a statement.
(Site notre blog d’information) Australia sends its condolences to the Schaefer family, Manfred’s loved ones and everyone he has touched by (Site notre bureau spécialisé) over the years.
