Borussia Mönchengladbach: FC Burnley wants to keep Jordan Beyer
Farke praises centre-backs
Borussia Mönchengladbach loaned central defender Jordan Beyer to FC Burnley last summer for more playing time. Since the 22-year-old had a regular place there and showed great performances, the « Clarets » are interested through longer cooperation. However, this is only contractually agreed until the end of the season – without a purchase option.
According to a ‘Bild’ report, Burnley are now considering the possibility of a permanent deal. Beyer is still tied to Gladbach until 2026, so he would cost a decent transfer fee three years before the end of the contract. The club could increase this, especially in the event of promotion to the Premier League. Burnley are currently in contention for the top spot in the Championship with 47 points (on the board).

Beyer is seeded in coach Vincent Kompany’s system and has made 13 appearances (one assist) this season. This development has not gone unnoticed by Mönchengladbach officials: “The loan is going exactly as we wanted. He must assert himself in a very physical championship. His strengths, including dribbling, come into their own in a team like Burnley. This year has been good for him in terms of (Site notre bureau spécialisé) and personal development. We are following its development very positively, » said Daniel Farke, quoted by « Bild ».
In the summer, the decision on a possible sale to Borussia will depend not only on the transfer fee offered, but also on what will happen with other personal data. In central defence, Ko Itakura (25) and Marvin Friedrich (27) are under contract until 2026, Nico Elvedi’s (26) contract expires in 2024. Given similar scenarios to this season ( nine contracts end in 2023) should be avoided in the future, the Swiss could make a decision before his last year with the « foals » which would affect Beyer’s whereabouts.
Total value over 75 million: these Gladbach contracts are only valid until 2023
